A WOMAN has admitted spitting on a man and shouting racist abuse in Ayr town centre.
Tamara Weir, 23, pleaded guilty at the town’s sheriff court to a racially-aggravated charge of threatening behaviour after acting aggressively while directing abusive language to the complainer.
Weir also admitted a charge of racially-aggravated assault in which she spat on a second complainer in Arthur Street, Ayr, on May 2 this year.
Not guilty pleas to three further charges was accepted by the procurator fiscal.
A not guilty plea from a second accused - Sean Dawson, 21, of Mossblown - in connection with the same incident was accepted by prosecutors when the case called on Thursday, September 1.
Sentencing on Weir was deferred to give social workers time to prepare a background report.
Weir, of St Leonards Court, Ayr, was ordained to appear in court at a later date.
