THE Ayr and Prestwick Branch of the Royal Air Forces Association will be observing the annual Battle of Britain Remembrance service next month.
The service will be held on Sunday, September 18 at Prestwick War Memorial at 3pm.
Afterwards a short service will be held at the Polish Navel Memorial in the garden at the RAFA Club. Light refreshments will follow and all are welcome to join in.
A spokesperson from the Ayr and Prestwick RAF Association said: “Let us together remember all who fell in that great battle which ensured our freedom.”
The act of remembrance will complete a busy weekend for the branch, which is holding its annual Battle of Britain anniversary dance at the branch’s premises on Ardayre Road in Prestwick on Saturday, September 17.
Entry is by ticket only and tickets are now available at just £5 each, with all proceeds going towards the branch’s Wings Appeal.
For more information about the branch or to buy tickets for the dance call 01292 471500 or see rafaclub.co.uk/contact.html.
