A MOTORIST was disqualified for dangerous driving after doing donuts on grass near a Prestwick pub while over the alcohol limit.

Jaad Hussian Ryan, 29, pleaded guilty to three charges of dangerous driving failing to provide a second breath sample, and no insurance.

The court hearing he had been placed on a previous community payback order - with the offences committed on bail granted on March 18.

His defence solicitor told how his client realised he would be disqualified ad interim ahead of sentencing at Ayr Sheriff Court last week [August 3].

The Procurator Fiscal depute said: “At 10.30pm in the evening on April 8 witnesses were in there residences

“Witnesses heard vehicle travelling at speed engine noise and screeching tyres.

“The witnesses looked out the window and saw a grey Ford Focus driving in an erratic manner on Ayr Road and the car park to the rear of the public house.

“Witnesses observed vehicle driving on the grass verge on Pleasantfield.

“The vehicle was observed being driven in circles on the grass. The vehicle was observed stopping.

“Police attended the locus and observed the vehicle at the pub and observed the accused outside.

“Police witnesses spoke to the accused who appeared intoxicated and smelt strongly of alcohol.

“After a roadside procedure the accused provided a positive sample of breath.”

The court heard he was also found to have no insurance.

The fiscal depute told the court: “At 12.05am police witnesses were initiating the procedure and the accused failed to provide a sample of breath.

Sheriff Shirley Foran deferred sentencing following the outcome of Criminal Justice Social Work Reports.

Ryan, of Chapel Lane, Galston, will return to

Ayr Sheriff Court at a later date.
