Police have confirmed that a 71-year-old man has died after he was found with serious injuries on an Ayr street.
Officers had previously advised the public to avoid River Street after the person was initially found.
Cops were called to the incident near the town centre, at around 11.50am this morning, August 9.
The road was closed at the time, though Ayrshire police stated there was "no risk to the wider public".
The OAP was pronounced dead at the scene after emergency services attended.
The death is not being treated as suspicious, however, a report will still be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.
