PEOPLE living across South Ayrshire are being invited to come along to the eagerly-anticipated return of a popular - and free - community event next month.

South Ayrshire Council's tenant participation team is organising a Communities Fun Day at the Citadel Leisure Centre in Ayr on Saturday, September 10 from 11am until 4pm.

There will be many exciting activities available on the day, including a vehicle display area, fun swim sessions and a popular fun zone which features laser quest; a petting zoo; face painting; gladiator duel; Miami fun fair ride; a sensory bus; teacup funfair rides and much more.

The event will also be a chance for anyone who lives or works in South Ayrshire to speak to representatives of various council services, community groups, service providers and external agencies.

The fun day was a popular annual feature of the council's calendar until the pandemic struck but had to be put on hold because of Covid restrictions.

Councillor Martin Kilbride, who holds the buildings, housing and environment portfolio at South Ayrshire Council, said: "I am delighted the Communities Fun Day is back, it’s always lots of fun and attracts people from across South Ayrshire.

"There really is something for everyone, with advice and support on hand as well. Thanks to Stagecoach, this year’s event is even easier to get to, so I would encourage anyone interested in going along to book their tickets from 12 August."

To attend the Communities Fun Day, you must book your free tickets in advance. Tickets will not be available on the day.  Tickets will be available from Friday 12 August 2022.

To avoid disappointment, book your tickets by visiting https://sacfunday2022.eventbrite.co.uk or by calling the Tenant Participation team on 01292 319275.
