JEWELLERY worth a five-figure-sum has been stolen during a housebreaking in Troon.

Between 2.15pm on Friday, July 15 and 6.45pm on Sunday, July 17, a house in Southwood Road was broken into and a quantity of jewellery, including diamond earrings and an Omega watch, was stolen, according to police.

There was no-one in the house at the time of the break-in.

Detective sergeant Craig Gilmour, South Ayrshire CID, said: “Although Southwood Road is quite secluded, I am still keen to hear from anyone, particularly drivers with dash-cam footage, who were in the area over the weekend.

“Officers have been making local enquiries but we would appeal to anyone who may have seen a car that they thought was out of place or maybe circling the area with a number of people on board.

“There is a hotel and golf course nearby so again if you have any footage that you think may assist officers with their enquiries then please get in touch.

“The value of the jewellery is significant, but more than that, the sentimental value is priceless.”

Please call officers via 101 quoting reference number 3085 of Sunday, July 17, 2022 or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
