AYR United's plans for a brand new North Stand at Somerset Park are now open for the public's comments.

The proposals were first unveiled last month - but they've now been formally validated by officials at South Ayrshire Council.

That means members of the public can now tell the local authority what they think of the plans - whether for or against - and that the views expressed will be taken into account when council officials, or councillors themselves, decide whether to grant planning permission.

The club is applying for permission to create a premium hospitality area at Somerset Park, as well as additional match seating and a new covering over the North Terrace.

According to the proposals, the existing Ally McLeod Suite will be domolished and "rethought" with a brand new North Stand Hospitality Suite.

An additional 748 seats for supporters are included in the plans, as well as better access for wheelchair users - and, for the first time, a roof over that side of the ground.
