AYR police continue to search for a missing person whose car was last seen in Turnberry a year ago.

It has now been a year since 65-year-old Gordon Proctor was reported missing from East Renfrewshire, and officers have renewed their appeal for information about his disappearance.

Mr Proctor was last seen in his home area of Netherlee at around 11.15am on Tuesday, July 6, 2021.

His white Renault Kadjar car was found in Turnberry in South Ayrshire, along with some of his personal belongings, and subsequent enquiries and searches have been focused on that area.

Efforts to establish Gordon’s last known movements continue and officers are providing support and updates to his family.

Gordon is described as being 6ft tall and of slim build with short brown hair.

When last seen he was wearing a lilac polo shirt, a blue jumper and cream shorts.

Inspector Joanne Logan of Ayr Police Station said: “Despite the passage of time, we would continue to appeal to anyone who may have seen Gordon to get in touch.

“Our thoughts remain with them as they prepare to mark this difficult anniversary.

“We will continue to act on any new information we receive and would ask anyone who believes they may have seen Gordon at any time since the early afternoon of Tuesday, July 6, 2021 to call 101, quoting incident 2460 of July 6, 2021.”
