Former Oasis frontman Liam Gallagher vowed to dedicate one of Oasis's biggest hits to an Ayr man who died in 2019.

Gallagher wowed a packed crowd at Hampden Park in Glasgow on Sunday night, with many Ayrshire fans among the audience.

Gallagher tweeted ahead of the gig in response to a TikTok video created by James's sister Christine McGarrie asking the singer to pay tribute to her brother who took his own life in 2019. Ayr Advertiser:

The Manchester band's hit Stay Young was played at Oasis-daft James's funeral, while  lyrics from the song feature on James's gravestone in Ayr Cemetry.

The tweet attracted more than 8,000 likes on Twitter and emotions ran high as the Mancunian belted out Champagne Supernova as the last song of his encore at the National Stadium.
