Ayr United have signed Democratic Republic of Congo defender David Bangala on a two-year deal.
The 6ft 1in defender arrives from Slovakian side FK Pohronie and is boss Lee Bullen’s second new signing of the Summer transfer window.
The 24-year-old spoke with Black and White TV, Ayr United’s own online media, about what kind of player they are getting.
He said: “I play with heart and I am a warrior.
“I am a leader. I talk with my teammates and I talk with everyone in the team, from the players to the secretary. I bring a good energy but on the pitch, I am a warrior. I never give up.
“I’m here because speaking with my agent and people from the club they told me Ayr United is the place to be in Scotland.”
Bangala’s arrival at Somerset Park comes following the Slovakian side’s
relegation and
Bullen will be looking to the new man to shore up a defence that shipped 52 league goals last season – the fourth worst record in the Championship.
The Honest Men will find out the details of their league campaign when the SPFL fixture lists are published this Friday, June 17.
