Whitletts Victoria Futsal Club have started the season off strongly but one of the biggest acquisitions of the season has been Ayr based photographer Mark Jewell who now sponsors the side.

The Futsal team was founded in 2017 but during the coronavirus pandemic the team has struggled especially with the league fixtures taking place in Glasgow.

The league started back this season and Vics have started the season off with two wins from their opening two games.

Mark, who runs his own photography business by day and is a self-employed DJ by night, said: "I have followed and supported the team for a number of years.

"The impact of the pandemic stopping training and competitive games was sad to see and when I heard the league was starting back up I was keen to support in any way possible.

"I am just about to complete my HND in photography at college and I believed this would be beneficial for both parties as well as getting my business name out there.

"The sponsorship will help towards running costs for the team. All league games are played on a Wednesday night in Glasgow and being the only team from Ayrshire there are extra costs associated such as travel."

Whiteletts manager Kevin Scott added: "It's been a tough two years for the club but since the turn of the year and getting back to training you can see the hunger is still there.

"Getting back to playing competitive games over the last month has been great and with wins over Glasgow Ambassadors and St Vincents it has been a dream start.

"I really think with the squad we have we should be pushing to win the league.

"I'm delighted to have Mark Jewell Photography sponsor the team.

"Seeing his work and his willingness to help take photo's for the team he has went above and beyond to help us whenever we've asked.

"It's great to have a local business sponsor our team and we look forward to the future working alongside Mark."
