Nithsdale Wanderers Ladies F.C secured a brilliant win at the weekend, as they defeated Dalbeattie 5-2 away from home.

The Ladies visited their hosts on Sunday to play their fifth league game of this campaign.

The game started well, the girls going toe to toe with Dalbeattie for the first 10 minutes.

The game fell flat for Nithsdale and a free kick outside the box for Dalbeattie saw them hit the back of the net. However, the goal gave the girls the drive to push on and the ball fell nicely for Meryl Stewart who ran it straight into the box and equalised for the Dale.

The goal didn’t slow Dalbeattie who gave a good run heading into half time.

The second half started with much more energy from The Dale’s girls, the pace was good and the passing even better. It was all to play for.

The hard work in the second half saw Demi Torrance complete a wonderful hat-trick, to put Nithsdale into the driving seat.

A perfectly delivered corner from Demi saw Megan Black head it into the back of the net to add another.

Fair play to Dalbeattie who didn’t give up and they continued to play energetic football and resulting in them scoring just before the final whistle.

Full time: Dalbeattie 2 - 5 Nithsdale Ladies.
