A 58-year-old woman has died at a property on Noltmire Road in Ayr and police are treating her death as unexplained currently.
Officers remain at the scene, where they have been investigating since yesterday morning, when first alerted.
They received a call at around 9am on Thursday morning and attended the property.
A cordon is in place around the affected property.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Around 9am on Thursday, May 19, police were called to a property on Noltmire Road, Ayr, following the death of a 58-year-old woman.
"The death is currently being treated as unexplained at this time, pending further enquiries. A report will be submitted to the Procurator Fiscal in due course.
"Officers will remain at the scene, as enquiries continue.”
