SUPERMARKET giants Morrisons are expected to take over McColl’s stores after the convenience store chain went into administration.
There were fears for the 16,000 employees of McColls last week, including those are stores in Ayr and Prestwick.
The company also includes RS or Martin McColl’s stores - the newsagents branch of the company.
On Monday, it was reported that , following emergency rescue talks over the weekend, Morrisons had agreed to buy McColl’s for an undisclosed amount
Morrisons said they would also protect the pensions of all McColl’s workers.
Last week, McColl’s saw shares plunge after it confirmed talks to secure cash needed to stop it collapsing into administration.
