Troon MSP, Siobhian Brown, has hailed the completion of improvements to the infrastructure at Troon’s East Pier, which will allow the Arran Ferry to dock there while essential upgrades are made to Ardrossan Harbour.

The Advertiser reported last month how work had been been completed ahead of the arrival of the Arran ferry.

The SNP MSP welcomed the improvements which are hoped to provide the people of Arran with a reliable and resilient service and bring about new opportunities for the people of Troon and the surrounding areas.

Ms Brown recently visited the Harbour with Cunninghame North MSP, Kenneth Gibson, Transport for Scotland and CalMac representatives.

She said: “The improvements to Troon’s East Pier are welcome news for both the people of Arran and the town. Troon has a long record of all-weather berthing.

“The Arran Ferry will operate temporarily from the port, while essential improvements are made at Ardrossan. However, all the infrastructure is permanent and will allow for future opportunities. As MSP for Troon, I look forward to exploring this further. The work of Port Manager, Stuart Cresswell, and everyone involved, should be commended.”
