Six people have been arrested and charged in connection with drug offences following proactive operations in Ayr and Kilmarnock.
On Friday, May 6, 2022, officers from Ayr’s Locality Policing Team executed a warrant at a property on Fort Street, Ayr.
Quantities of heroin and crack cocaine were recovered, with an estimated street value of around £1,000. Around £5,400 in cash was also recovered.
Two women, aged 37 and 48, and a 49-year-old man have been arrested and charged in connection with drug offences and are due to appear at Ayr Sheriff Court on Monday, May 9.
On the same day, officers from the Ayrshire Proactive Crime Team executed a warrant at a property on Fulton’s Lane in Kilmarnock.
£1,000 worth of heroin and Valium was recovered, as well as around £1,400 in cash.
Two men, aged 42 and 32, and a 26-year-old woman have been arrested in connection with drug offences and are due to appear at Kilmarnock Sheriff Court at a later date.
Detective Sergeant Andrew Dunlop, of Ayrshire Proactive Crime Team, said: “We have arrested six people concerned in the supply of controlled drugs.
“We are committed to disrupting the illicit supply of drugs in our communities and we will use every tool and tactic at our disposal to remove these illegal substances from our streets.
“I would urge anyone who is aware of any information about the supply of drugs to report the matter to police on 101, or anonymously through independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
