A 33-year-old woman was left shaken after being knocked to the ground and robbed as she was walking in a lane in Ayr.

The incident happened between Castlehill Road and Meadow Park Drive between 8pm and 8.30pm on Monday, March 21, when the woman was knocked over by a man who approached her from behind.

He grabbed her bag which contained a two-figure sum of cash.

The woman did not required hospital treatment however she was extremely shaken as a result of this robbery.

Detective Sergeant Craig Gilmour said: “We are working to trace the man responsible for this robbery and we would appreciate any help the public can give us.  

“He is described as wearing a dark-coloured hooded top and a blue disposable face mask.

 “I would appeal to anyone who was in the area of Castlehill Road and Meadow Park Drive on Monday evening who witnessed this crime, or who saw anyone acting suspiciously to contact officers.

“If anyone has personal footage that may assist this investigation, please get in touch.”
