The Scottish Enviromental Protection Agency (SEPA) has issued a flood warning for Ayr and Troon as Storm Dudley approaches the south west coast.

The risk of flooding is largely due to wave overtopping and spray along the sea front.

The warning is in place with immediate effect but SEPA says the risk is particularly high between 10pm today and 3am on Thursday.

The area highlighted in red indicates the target area covered by the warning.

SEPA says responsibility and actions lie with homeowners in the area. Advice and information is available through Floodline on 0345 9881188.

The flood warning will remain in place from now unti further notice, and those who have signed up for SEPA's floodline direct warning system will have already received warning via phone and text.
