AYR United have offered their condolences after a supporter passed away after last night's Ayrshire derby at Rugby Park.

The man suffered a cardiac arrest and received immediate treatment from medics at the scene, on Rugby Road.

The Kilmarnock supporter, who has not been named, was transferred to nearby Crosshouse Hospital but medics were unable to revive him.

Both clubs paid their tributes today, with a Kilmarnock statement reading: "Our condolences and the thoughts of everyone at Kilmarnock Football Club go out to his family, friends and loved ones."

Ayr United posted on Facebook and Twitter saying: "Our condolences and the thoughts of everyone at Ayr United Football Club go out to his family, friends and loved ones."
