SIX South Ayrshire music students passed with flying colours in their recent external examinations.
Hermione Blair, from Girvan, achieved her Grade 1 piano certificate from the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music (ABRSM), while Grace Denham, from Barr, also achieved Grade 1 in piano – in her case with merit.
Two more youngsters from Barr, Rosie Denham and Darcey Trotter, each passed their Grade 3 piano exam, as did Euan Walker, from Girvan.
The final member of the group, Mark McMillan, from Dailly, passed his Grade 5 exam in violin.
The youngsters, who sat the exams in December, are pupils of Girvan music teacher Graeme Finnie, a former organ student at the Royal College of Muusic in London and now organist and director of music at Kay Park Church in Kilmarnock.
Graeme said: “This is a fine achievement by these young musicians, as owing to Covid ABRSM exams have been on hold for two years.”
