A 75-year-old man is in a "serious" condition after a road crash in Irvine, say police.
Police officers are continuing their enquiries and are now appealing for witnesses after a crash involving a van on the A78 at the Eglinton interchange.
Around 11.30am on Wednesday, January 12, officers were called to an incident involving a Ford Transit Connect van on the southbound off-slip where the van had overturned.
Emergency services attended and the 75-year-old driver was taken to Crosshouse Hospital.
Hospital staff describe his condition as serious.
Sergeant Chris Hoggans, from Police Scotland's road policing unit in Irvine, said: “Since this crash took place we have been carrying out enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the collision.
"I would urge anyone who may have witnessed the crash, or has dash cam footage to contact the Road Policing Unit at Irvine through 101 quoting reference 1022 of January 12.”
