Ayr United have announced a new head of player recruitment ahead of the January transfer window.

Keith Glendinning joins the club having initially worked with Hibs as lead opposition analyst.

He then joined Hamilton Accies as a technical analyst before joining the Honest Men last week.

Ayr United’s managing director Graeme Mathie says he was thrilled to add his former colleague as the latest corporate signing for the club.

He said: “I am delighted to bring Keith to Ayr United and would like to thank the chairman and the board for their support in making this happen.

“Having worked with Keith previously, and knowing how wide ranging his role has been at Hamilton, he will bring a strong and varied skill-set to the club.

“Keith has previously led opposition analysis, pre- and post-match analysis and has been a key driver in building processes around player recruitment throughout his career at both Hibernian and Hamilton. Player recruitment will be a key focus for us at Ayr United going forward and I am delighted to have Keith working with us in this field.

“His skillset will be a great asset to the football department and a great support to the head coach when he is appointed.”

On the head coach front the Honest Men are yet to appoint a new boss after the sacking of Jim Duffy last month.

There are several names linked with the vacant post, with Livingston assistant manager Marvin Bartley emerging an early front runner by the bookies.
