Commuters travelling from Glasgow to Ayrshire will face delays on trains today as ScotRail have said there are currently no services running from Glasgow Central to various towns and villages in the area.

Other routes are running, but are delayed.

ScotRail say a signalling fault is the cause of the delays and cancellations.

Services on the Glasgow Central to Kilmarnock route are currently suspended.

Glasgow Central to Newcastle/Carlisle via Dumfries and Glasgow Central to Girvan/Stranraer via Kilmarnock may be subject to delays, alterations and cancellations.

Network Rail say they are on site, working to fix the problem. A spokesperson tweeted at 8.44 this morning: "Our engineers are currently on site trying to fix a fault with the signalling system that's affecting trains travelling through the Kilmarnock area. Until the fault has been fixed, trains are unable to run through this area."
