Alloway Rotary Club have been working alongside Doonfoot Primary to celebrate and raise awareness of Rotary GBI’s great initiative Purple 4 Polio, which aims to eradicate Polio across the World.

South Ayrshire Council have also been involved in the work that saw Rotary in Alloway plant 4,000 Purple Crocus bulbs at Murdoch’s Lone Alloway.

Doonfoot Primary took part in Purple Pinkie Day on Wednesday, October 27, donating just 50p which is the cost of giving each child the anti-Polio vaccine.

The Club’s President, Bill Grant, took time to help with the planting before heading off to join the Toon Tidy Team with their regular sessions to keep Ayr just a little bit tidier.

Rotary in Ayr will hold their Annual St Andrew’s Evening in The Horizon Hotel on Monday, November 29 when the Guest Speaker will be Rev. David Ness.
