People were out paying their respects over the weekend to the fallen heroes who fought for our country and key to those remembrance acts is having a dedicated space to honour them.
So well done to volunteers in Tarbolton for doing such a good job at maintaining the war memorial, which has just been named the best maintained in Glasgow, Ayrshire, and Dumfries and Galloway.
It was named winner in the Satellite Memorials without Gardens category of the Royal British Legion Scotland’s competition.
The war memorial is maintained by a few volunteers from the village, who tidied it up again last week ready for Remembrance Sunday.
