Ayr charity Baby To Teen are upgrading to a new premises to keep up with the demand of their service.

The charity has been working from the Tsukure Hub on Ayr High Street, but now they are moving in to a bigger shop on Arthur Street.

Baby To Teen has helped people and families across South Ayrshire with everything from prams and buggies, to clothes and stores for kids.

As demand grew, the team knew that they would have to upgrade their location sooner, rather than later. And now they are in the process of transferring to their new shop.

Karen Watson, from Baby To Teen told the Advertiser: “We have know for a while that we were desperately needing a new shop with better access.

“We are so grateful to the guys at Tsukure Hub for their support in helping us out there.

“The new store will be on the ground floor, it’s accessible from the bus station and taxi rank, and it’s easier for our volunteers so they don’t need to be climbing up and down stairs with stock.

“We’re expecting another extremely busy Christmas period and have had a lot of referrals already.

“We’re hoping the new store will be ready for action before too long and then we can get ourselves sorted.”

The new shop will hopefully be open on Saturday, November 20.

Karen says they are in a hurry to get the store open due to the increase in the number of referrals.

She added: “I think we’ve had around double the referrals this year compared to what we had last year. So I think that shows how important it is to get us up and running as quickly and safely as we can.”
