Girlguiding Ayrshire South had a special event on Sunday, October 24 to give thanks to the County Team for all of the work they do for local Guiding.

The event also had a very special, very secret surprise.

The guides were delighted to witness Mrs Ina Mackie receive the Scottish Chief Commissioner’s Thistle Award, which was presented to her by Girlguiding’s Deputy Scottish Chief Commissioner, Carol Morwood.

The award is for those who have made an outstanding contribution to Scottish Guiding.

A spokesperson for the Ayrshire South Girlguides said: “We are all so delighted that Ina has been recognised with this award, after almost 60 years of service to Girlguiding in Ayrshire South, both in her county roles and her ongoing commitment to Unit Guiding in Central Ayr District.

“Congratulations and thank you, Mrs Mackie.”
