A despicable duo have stolen hundreds of pounds worth of tips from staff at LA Bowl in Ayr.

The selfish pair snatched the team's tip jar on Monday (October 25) at around 3pm.

CCTV from the Miller Road venue has captured the crime on camera.

The two offenders can be seen loitering at the service counter and leaning on the counter before checking if the coast is clear, snatching the tip box and dropping it into a bag, depriving the workers of their hard-earned cash.

Julia Claxton, the managing director of the venue, told the Advertiser she believes she has identified the pair after sharing the video on Facebook.

She said: "I put the video on social media and everybody told me that they are disgusting people and they've given me their names."

Julia added that there was around £300 in the tip jar at the time that it was taken.

The money was to be shared among 25 staff members at the venue.

Julia said: "We were quite busy, the bar person had gone to get ice, another to get change from the office, so there's a little gap and that's what they've waited for."

She added: "We employ a lot of young people, who would have benefitted from those tips, it's terrible for them."

She said that the pair had been spotted on CCTV lurking around the venue before they stole the tips, at one point going behind the desk at the LAzerzone.

The police have been informed.
