Saltcoats Active Lifestyle Team (SALT) held a sponsored walk on Sunday October 24.

16 local children signed up and walked the 3.5 miles from the Turf carpark to Sandylands and back to raise money for SALT’s Winton Circus playpark regeneration project.

On the way they stopped off at Saltcoats Labour Club to pick up a cheque for £200 to add to the other generous donations from local businesses.

The kids also stopped by the swing park for refreshments and to be presented with medals and certificates for taking part and doing their bit to improve facilities in the area.

SALT would like to thank all those who took part in the sponsored walk and to the generous passers-by who filled the collection buckets with over £100.

Letters about how to support the project have been dropped in to all local businesses so please get in touch via the SALT facebook group at www.facebook.com/ groups/1207575142993609.

SALT would like to thank Cullis’s Amusements, The Four Seasons, The Melbourne Fry and Babies World for their kind donations towards the playpark redevelopment and Iceland for providing the refreshments for the walkers.

Well done to you all from everyone at the Herald and keep up the great work.
