A TEAM of Kiltwalkers from Alloway Parish Church have managed to raise over £13,000 for their Christian Aid Hunger Appeal at this year’s Glasgow Kiltwalk.
Their efforts amassed a sizeable amount of £6,605, which was doubled thanks to donations from The Hunter Foundation and The Kiltwalk, taking their overall total to £13,210.
Speaking about their efforts and the donations, Rev Neil McNaught said: “Once again we are so indebted to our church family and friends for generously supporting us.
“Sir Tom Hunter also deserves great praise for his commitment to assisting good causes
“So too the Kiltwalk organisation and sponsors added another 50 per cent.
“Thus our £6,605 became £13,210!
“Harvest time is a great time to remember and help some of the poorest of the world and Christian Aid does just that!
“This help will be directed to Afghanistan South Sudan and Ethiopia where the need is acute.”
