Ayr United recently paid thanks to a club legend of a different kind.
Catering Manager, Lynne Watson has been serving the club for 25 years.
In that time, she has outlasted 10 full-time managers, saw the club get to cup finals, as well as the pain and joy of promotions and relegations.
To celebrate her stellar hard work, Lynne was gifted with a beautiful cake with her picture on it, which read: “Congratulations on your silver working anniversary, Lynne.
“Love from all the staff at AUFC”.
During her time at the club, Lynne joked that she has cooked around 3,000kg of pasta, and has served in the region of 288,000 jaffa cakes.
A spokesperson for the club added: “Today [October, 14] marked 25 years at Ayr United for Club Legend and Catering Manager, Lynne.
“We don’t know where we would be without you!
“Thank you, Lynne and congratulations!”
After the celebration, it was straight back to work for Lynne, as Ayr prepared for the visit of Queen of the South.
