A section of Glaisnock Street in Cumnock which closed yesterday afternoon [October 12] due to a 'collapsed wall' will remain shut for two weeks.
The incident occurred after some high level stonework adjoining the pub premises became unstable and collapsed during demolition works at numbers 12-16.
Debris fell on the footpath and road, meaning the area now has to be cleared and made safe. A "detailed assessment" of the remaining works is also underway.

There has been some uncertainty as to when the part of the road in question will reopen, but today the council confirmed it won't be for another fortnight, at least.
An East Ayrshire Council Spokerson said: "A full road closure currently remains in place at 12-16 Glaisnock Street to allow for a detailed structural assessment and any remedial works to be undertaken.
"It’s expected that the road will be closed for a minimum of two weeks."
Although road signs erected at the site say that the whole road is closed, residents are reminded that it is still only a certain section as described above.
People can still access Townhead Street via Lugar Street.
