Vandals attempted to burn down the Stair Park Bandstand at the weekend.
Thankfully the fire service were made aware and came out to extinguish the blaze at the structure, which dates back to the 19th Century.
The building has lain empty for many years now. It is now covered in graffiti and in a general state of disrepair.
A Scottish Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “We were alerted at 5.43pm on Sunday, October 10 to reports of a fire at the old bandstand, Stair Park, Girvan.
“Operations Control mobilised two appliances and firefighters extinguished a fire affecting a disused building.
“There were no reported casualties and crews left after ensuring the area was made safe.”
