A South Ayrshire town is going to have to go without two of its public toilets after vandals trashed two cubicles.

South Ayrshire Council has announced that it has closed two cubicles at the public toilets in Maybole because of the damage caused.

Work will take place to repair the facility.

A South Ayrshire Council spokesperson said: "We’re sad to say that our public conveniences in Maybole were vandalised over the weekend.

"Unfortunately, this means that we have had to close two of the cubicles until repairs can be made.

"The accessible toilet can still be used via RADAR key. The incident has been reported to Police Scotland."
