Jim Duffy has been appointed Ayr United manager until at least the end of the season.

Duffy has been in interim charge of the club since David Hopkin left Somerset Park last month.

Following a board meeting yesterday, Ayr United Directors unanimously agreed that Duffy should be the man to lead the Club for the remainder of the season.

A statement from the club said: "Ayr United are delighted to announce the appointment of Jim Duffy as Manager, initially to the end of this season.

"We are also delighted that Dave Timmins remains as Assistant Manager and John Joyce as Coach alongside Derek Stillie.

"The coaching team has a vast amount of experience and the continuity of the coaching team over the last few weeks has proven to have a positive impact on results and a calming influence on the playing squad.

"We wish Jim and his back room staff well for the remaining season and are looking forward to our trip to Firhill tomorrow".

Ayr are unbeaten in the Scottish Championship in their three games under Duffy, and travel to Firhill to face Partick Thistle tomorrow.
