Detectives in Ayr are appealing for information following the attempted robbery of a man in the early hours of Sunday morning (September 19).

The incident took place in Glenmuir Place, between 12.30am and 12.45am on Sunday morning.

The victim, a 48-year-old man, was approached by two men, who demanded money before assaulting him and running from the area.

He was taken to hospital with serious, but not life threatening injuries.

The two men are described as being between 18 and 20-years-old, skinny build and both wearing all black sportswear.

Detective Constable Barry Gibson, from Ayr CID, said: “We’re appealing for anyone who was in the area and witnessed the incident or believes they saw the men in question during the night, to please come forward.
