The Rotary Club of Prestwick have taken a photographic project to the streets to try and reminisce about days gone by in the town and to spark up a conversation about a previous life.

Between September 8 and 21, around 50 photographs showing Prestwick in all its glory are being displayed in shop windows and other premises throughout the town, so people can remember and learn about what life was like all those years ago.

One such example is shown here to the right, with Post Office team ready to deliver hand-written letters across the town.

The Rotary Club are also keen to keep the youngsters involved in the project, by running a competition for children to count the number of horses in all the displayed pictures. A prize of £30 is on offer.

After the street display exhibition, the pictures will be moved to the entrance of the old Broadway Cinema from September 22 for four days.

After another chance to remember what life was like before, the images will then be sold off for £20 each, with proceeds going towards different charities in the area.
