South Ayrshire Council say they are committed to only carrying out evictions as a last resort.
Evictions were banned for a large part of the pandemic lockdown.
However they were reinstated from the beginning of June, with fears that many residents already struggling would be forced out onto the streets.
Statistics for Scotland lend weight to this, with evictions rising six-fold from the previous year.
South Ayrshire Council said in a statement last week: “Eviction action is always a last resort for the council.
“We are committed to working with tenants and providing advice, information and support to help them sustain their tenancy. In all instances, we ensure that the necessary pre-action requirements are met before even considering legal action and we always follow the current Scottish Government guidance.”
