Ayr bus cancellations continue today as Stagecoach continue to grapple with a shortage of licensed drivers to fulfil routes.

The company has had to cancel many services in the area on multiple occasions in the last couple of weeks.

Yesterday, more than 100 services were cancelled across four routes, the 1, 2, 3, and 6 buses.

Today, the 2, the 3, and the 6 are affected again. 

The company has said that there is a delay at the DVLA in processing PCV licences for HGV drivers and until these are issued, the cancellations are likely to continue.

The DVLA has put the delay down to problems with industrial action and social distancing measures. 

A Stagecoach spokesperson confirmed the latest cancellations on Twitter last night, saying: "Due to operational issues the frequency of some buses operating on Ayr Services 2, 6 and 3 will be reduced on Wednesday 8th September 2021, the following times will not operate:
