Members of Ayr Choral Union are re-starting indoor rehearsals as of today (Tuesday, August 31) in Castlehill Church in Ayr.
Since March 2020 the choir have been unable to rehearse or perform live indoors due to Covid regulations.
However, thanks to Zoom, there has been lots of singing online, with guests joining the group from the Highlands to Hampshire, and more recently they have loved rehearsing outdoors.
Ayr Choral Union Musical Director Andrew McTaggart has been innovative and supportive, with one member describing him as “always interesting, always inspiring and always encouraging, he made the last year into something worthwhile and memorable”.
The first live rehearsals at Castlehill will involve carefully planned social distancing and face coverings, to make them as safe as possible, and members will be able to join in from home as rehearsals will be streamed live on Facebook.
The group are also planning a Come and Sing Day in October for anyone who would like to join in. For further information, you can contact ayrchoral@outlook.com or check out their Facebook site or website at www.ayrchoralunion.net
