Junior golfers from Ladies Golf Club Troon had a golf masterclass to remember when four sporting pros visited.
The 2009 Women’s British Open champion Catriona Matthew, 2018 champion Georgia Hall, Emily K. Pedersen and Annabel Dimmock all passed on their wisdom to the next generation of players at the iconic Carnoustie Golf Links.
Freya McAleese, Murray McAleese, Emma Laidlaw, and Sarah Laidlaw, from the local club, had the opportunity of a lifetime to have lessons from the stars.
The four were part of 100 junior golfers from across Scotland, aged between six and16, who took part in the exclusive masterclass, which was the conclusion to The R&A’s Golden Ticket giveaway campaign. They also saw an exclusive behind the scenes look at the championship.
The lucky four took part in the day in the build up to the AIG Women’s Open, which took place at Carnoustie over the weekend. The club hopes it can inspire more young girls to get involved in the sport.
