As of Monday (August 16) a number of changes have come into effect for South Ayrshire’s sport and leisure facilities.

Following the Scottish Government move beyond Level 0, some operational changes have now taken place. At Prestwick, Troon and Maybole Pools, as well as the Citadel Leisure Centre, the changes include capacities increased for swimming and gym sessions, increased shower availability and online booking being no longer mandatory.

At these facilities, the council are also currently reviewing their existing timetables for swimming, gym and fitness classes so that changes can be made to increase availability/access. Alongside this they’ll be considering the reintroduction of football, basketball and squash.

Throughout all facilities, it is still mandatory to wear a face covering in all non activity areas of the building – unless you are medically exempt from doing so.

A full list of the changes that have been made, and further information, can be found on the South Ayrshire Council website.
