Traffic Scotland has issued a plea to 'use caution' when travelling on South Ayrshire roads tonight due to surface water affecting driving conditions.
Although there are no formal weather warnings, areas of Strathclyde have been experiencing high levels of surface water that have also been impacting drivers in Glasgow, South Lanarkshire, North Lanarkshire.
Now, in a statement on Twitter at 4pm, Traffic Scotland said: "South Ayrshire - Weather, Drivers in South Ayrshire are advised to use caution due to surface water affecting driving conditions. tscot.org/01a13365 #TSIncident"

Traffic Scotland issued a string of tweets, warning specific areas that they may be hit by surface water and transport disruption. They include: South Ayrshire, Dumfries and Galloway, Fife, Stirling, South Lanarkshire, North Lanarkshire, and Glasgow.
