Two people have been issued with Recorded Police Warnings after a woman was bitten by two dogs in Troon last week.

We told on Monday how an 81-year-old woman had been bitten by two Staffordshire Bull Terriers in Fullarton Woods.

The incident happened in the afternoon of Wednesday, August 4.

A 20-year-old woman and 28-year-old man have now both been issued with Recorded Police Warnings in relation to this incident.

The warning can be issued to any person over the age of 16.

It is not a finding of guilt but is an alternative to prosecution and will be recorded on the Criminal History System for a period of two years and can be taken into account should the offender come to the further notice of the police.

Police Scotland have thanked the public for their assistance in the investigation into this incident.
