South Ayrshire has been given some strong representation in the prestigious Pride in the Job Awards.

Scott McNulty of Taylor Wimpey West Scotland and Stuart Gillespie of Mactaggart and Mickel Homes Ltd have been announced as winners in the first round of its flagship competition to determine the very best site managers in the UK.

Scott McNulty was awarded for their site at Princess Gate in Troon, while Stuart Gillespie was given the accolade for their site Greenan Views in Ayr.

The competition recognises site managers who have achieved the very highest standards in house building with the awards being the most prestigious of their kind in the sector.

From a field of more than 10,000, 450 site managers have won a Quality Award in the first round of NHBC’s Pride in the Job Awards 2021, showing the scale of the achievement from Scott and Stuart to be selected.

On his prize, Scott McNulty said: “It’s amazing to be awarded with anything at any time, but for just something that feels like just doing your work it is amazing.

“It’s testament to how much hard work the whole team put in and especially over the past year, it’s been amazing.”

Stuart Gillespie added: “The fact the awards are for the whole of the UK and so many nominations and things like that are made, it’s unbelievable that we’re getting recognition from a wee place in Ayrshire.

“Hopefully it can lead to even better things.”

NHBC Chief Executive Steve Wood commented:“Pride in the Job winning sites have higher levels of homeowner satisfaction as these homes are among the very best in the country.

“Congratulations to Scott McNulty. Stuart Gillespie and all the 2021 Pride in the Job Quality Award winners – be proud of what you are building and the standards you are setting.
