Ayrshire Hospice is going to be hosting a Facebook Live broadcast to showcase their celebration tree.

The tree enables bereaved families to dedicate a leaf in memory of a loved one and the personal tree is situated at the main entrance to the hospice.

Due to the restrictions the pandemic has put in place over the past 15 months, families who have donated an engraved leaf for the large Celebration Tree display have been unable to visit.

Viewers of the live broadcast will also be able to request to see their donated leaf up close by commenting in real time.

The broadcast will happen on Thursday, July 22, between 6-7pm. Supporters can tune in via the Ayrshire Hospice Facebook page.

By going live, Ayrshire Hospice will once again be able to showcase the beautiful tree and allow families to view it and use it as a place to mourn and remember.

Steve Brown, Hospice Chaplain at Ayrshire Hospice said “The celebration tree is a unique way to remember a loved one, whilst helping us continue to provide vital care and support to local people across Ayrshire & Arran who are living with a life-limiting illness.

"One of the most heart-breaking aspects of the past year’s restrictions is that many bereaved families haven’t been able to get into the hospice to see the tree so we hope that this virtual event will be a great way for families to tune in from anywhere in the world and pay tribute to someone special.”
