Visitors to Hansel’s new respite caravans will be able to catch their favourite shows thanks to a generous donation from the Arnold Clark Community Fund.
The charity was presented with a magnificent £1,000 award which was used to purchase new smart televisions for three respite caravans.
Over the past few months the Hansel team has been busy relocating its static caravans to the Broadmeadows Estate in Symington to enable visitors to continue to receive respite care despite the pandemic.
Colin Kilbride, Hansel service manager, said: “We are very grateful to Arnold Clark as more than ever families need respite support and customers need to be able to enjoy different surroundings having been stuck at home for so long.
“To be able to spend time at one of our caravans provides a great boost to a person’s wellbeing which is greatly needed at the moment.”
The specially adapted caravans enable people to enjoy supported stays from one night up to two weeks.
During their stay customers can also take part in a variety of tailored activities including days out and social events where they can join in with others and meet new
friends.
Hansel is a leading social care provider, based in Symington, offering a range of services to people living with learning difficulties including small group living residential accommodation and supported living, short breaks, respite care, employment opportunities and supports, and transition support services, including young people living within the autistic spectrum. For further information on the charity and their respite caravans, you can visit www.hansel.org.uk.
