WOMEN from across Ayshire headed to Ayr Beach last night (Monday) to mark the Summer Solstice with a plunge in the sea.
The members of Ayrshire's Wild Sea Swimming took part in the night time swim to coincide with the sun setting in the Ayrshire sky.
Over 50 wild sea swimmers joined together to take part in a short yoga breathing session before heading into the water to soak up the sun as they swam.
After their dip, they enjoyed a small campfire and a catch-up as they celebrated the start of summer.
Organiser Michele Haley simply said: "Last night was amazing."
Women also met at Prestwick for a Summer Solstice night swim at 9pm.
More and more women are signing up to become Wild Sea Swimmers in the Ayrshire group.
They meet each week for dips at Ayr Beach, Prestwick Beach, Irvine Beach and at West Kilbride.
