MEMBERS of Ardeer Golf Club will be taking part in a dusk-to-dawn golf challenge today [Friday, June 18] to raise vital funds for a Stevenston youngster battling cancer.
Jessica Ewing, 13, will receive physiotherapy aids from the sponsorship that will aid her rehabilitation efforts as she battles cancer.
Organised by Ryan Brodie and nine other members, the golfers will play the course from when the sun rises at 4.30 am to when it sets around 10 pm.
Ryan told the Herald: “We will be playing from when it is light enough to do so until we can’t see the ball anymore, it could be a total of 18 hours on the green.
“We wanted to support a local cause and Jessica fully deserves any help the community can provide.”
The event currently has sponsorship from Q&L Skips and Cunninghame Youth ‘09s. They are still looking for sponsorship from businesses.
