Ayr's new MSP has delivered her first speech at the Scottish Parliament.

SNP's Siobhian Brown took on her first speech in the chamber yesterday (June 15) after being elected as Ayr's MSP at last month's election.

It was the first time since 2000 that somebody other than John Scott of the Scottish Conservative and Unionist Party had been voted in.

In her speech, Ms Brown said she is determined to represent each of her constituents to best of her abilities.

As well as this, she paid tribute to her predecessor, Mr John Scott, mentioning her "utmost respect" for "a highly regarded member of the Scottish Parliament".

Posting on her official Facbook page, Siobhian Brown MSP said: "It was an honour and privilege to do my first speech yesterday at the Scottish Parliament representing the people of Ayr, Prestwick and Troon.

"I thank everybody that placed their trust and faith in me to serve you as the Ayr MSP. I will work hard to serve all my constituents and will not let you down".
